There are a lot of writers out there for you to choose from. What makes me different is my approach: I am straightforward and practical. I don’t mince words and I don’t try to win any awards for being cute or clever. I am direct, clear and to the point. Your audience will have no problem understanding and relating to what you express because I make it easy for them. Being direct is what I do best.
That said, being no-nonsense does not mean that I cannot tell a great story. I identify the angle to your message that will resonate with your target market and place it front and center for them to experience. I have always had a knack and love for storytelling, giving directions and helping people find their way. Translating that into a career in writing has been a challenge that I have embraced over the years.
I have over a decade of experience writing projects and serving the communication needs of businesses and organizations. My background in writing projects for the education, non-profit, government, business, and technology sectors has given me a unique perspective on a wide range of topics. As a result, I understand the needs of my clients and provide them with the consultation and feedback they need to create compelling content. I can take your message and translate it into the words and emotion that your target audience will respond to. This could be in the form of a brochure, a blog post, an article or direct mail piece — any form of communication that relies on the power of the written word.
You don’t have to be good at writing, you just need to know what you want to say. I’ll take it from there. I’m at home in the company of words and I would be honored to tame them for you.
I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, with my primary focus in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. Additionally, I received my Master of Arts in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University in 2010.
I am in the Washington, D.C. area and open to freelance opportunities. If there is a message you want to share but are not sure where to start, let me help you tell your story.
